After leaving school at age 15, (1981) started an apprenticeship with SRA, (State Rail Authority) as Fitter machinist. During my apprenticeship I completed a railway welding course + post trade Diesel course at Granville Tafe, and worked as a fitter welder till leaving SRA in 1987. 1987-1999, started work at Hydraulic Distributors in Penrith. This is where my journey in hydraulics began. Starting with just 2 x employees, (myself and the Geoff Hurps the owner of the Business) we built the business up to 14 employees. Initially starting out as a service fitter, but quickly adapting to all aspects of field service sales and design. Progressing to workshop manager/oem project manager/manager. 1999-present, started Hypower Hydraulic Systems P/L. In the beginning I specialised in all aspects of hydraulics design, sales and supply of all brands.
Field and workshop service and repair work, installation, fabrication. With a fair amount of work coming from the agricultural and drilling rig sectors. Over the years the business has gradually became more sales/design oriented, with a complete ceasing of service work. We have close relationships with most suppliers and in 2014 we became an official Danfoss Distributor. Today our business revolves around design and sales of components to small and medium OEM Customers, wholesale to the Hydraulic industry customers and a small amount of end user sales.
